Jeremy Hara bought a book called Boring Postcards from a bookstore that was in Santa Monica. This was back when bookstores existed. He was mesmerized by all the terribly banal images. He showed it to a friend and the friend asked “why did you buy a book like this?” Jeremy said “Because I am going to do paintings of those boring postcards.”
